CLARKSVILLE, Tenn.-Austin Peay State University men's basketball has announced that sophomore guard James Harris has been dismissed from the team for a "violation of athletic department policy."

That was announced Thursday by APSU head coach Dave Loos.

Harris, of Kalamazoo, Mich., played in only 16 games in 2008-09, averaging 1.1 points per game. The dismissal came a week after he was suspended from team activities.

Harris will remain in school through semester's end.
