2012: Started the season as the No. 6 singles player but steadily worked her way up in the rotation... knocked off Evansville's Mina Milovic 6-2, 6-4 on Jan. 27... moved up to No. 4 singles to defeat Lipscomb's Elizabeth Keevil 6-3, 6-1in a Lady Govs win, Feb. 27... in the OVC opener, defeated SIU Edwardsville's Haley Ilcewicz 6-1, 6-1... won six of her last eight matches, beginning with a 6-4, 6-4 win against Eastern Illinois' Sephora Boulbahaiem (March 27)... Only dropped two sets in back-to-back matches against TSU's Lauren Thomas (6-0, 6-0 on April 6) and Jacksonville State's Zoe Bizinos (6-2, 6-0 on April 7)... capped her singles season at the OVC Tournament with a second-round loss win against Eastern Kentucky's Saioa Oscoz (6-4, 6-4)... found a solid doubles partner in Ornella Di Salvo; the duo went 14-3 in No. 2 doubles from Feb. 24 to the end of the season... Lost once in doubles action to a conference opponent. 2011 Singles: Joined the Lady Govs at beginning of spring semester... played at 12 matches at No. 3 singles and seven matches at No. 4 singles... finished with a 10-9 overall mark, including a 6-2 OVC clip... began season playing at No. 3, winning three of her first five collegiate matches... after a straight-set loss vs. Miami (Ohio) Megan Martzolf, won three consecutive road matches, including a three-setter against Southern Illinois' Jennifer Dien... went 3-2 in three-set matches... moved to No. 4 singles and won back-to-back matches at Eastern Kentucky and Morehead State... picked up straight-set win vs. Murray State's Lindsey Wiseman, helping Lady Govs into OVC tournament. Doubles: Played at No. 2 doubles, playing 11 matches with Vanja Tomic and six matches with Carolin Weikard... went 4-7 with Tomic and 5-1 with Weikard... played season's first stretch with Tomic, winning two of five matches... won first five matches while teaming with Weikard, the closest match being 8-7 at Eastern Kentucky ... ended season winning two of six matches with Tomic... that included an OVC tournament win against Murray State, 8-1.
Previously: A talented player brought up in the Romanian tennis circuits...primarily played national tournaments, but also played in three ITF events... played in the 2007 Prince Cup, winning her opening-round match in three sets... also played in Romania's Bucharest qualifier and Craiova qualifer... also played volleyball in high school. |
