CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Austin Peay State University athletics served as host to community business leaders and potential corporate sponsors, Tuesday night, in the Dunn Center.
The night, called Score New Beginnings, saw APSU demonstrate the possibilities from a partnership standpoint the Austin Peay’s new signage abilities in the Dunn Center while displaying future opportunities in new Governors Stadium that will open for the 2014 football season.
APSU President Tim Hall opened the presentation by discussing the University’s continued growth and development, citing last week’s White House report that singled out Austin Peay as a leader in using technology to better serve the students.
With both the new video boards and LED tables accompanying his message, new APSU Athletics Director Derek van der Merwe then talked about the impact that ever-growing APSU has on the community and vice versa. He also pointed out the continued growth of APSU athletics and the successes it has enjoyed on and off the field over the past two decades and the vision of APSU athletics partnering with the community in helping the growth of both.
Steve Shaw, director of APSU Athletics Corporate relations, concluded the evening, orchestrated by APSU Marketing and Relations Coordinator Alaric Klinghard.
