CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. - Junior Haylee Shoaff, of Austin Peay State University women's soccer team, has been named the Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week.

Shoaff shutout Tennessee Tech and Jacksonville State over the weekend, amassing 11 total saves and helping the Lady Govs clinch a berth in the Ohio Valley Conference tournament for the first time since 2010. Her efforts netted her second career OVC Goalkeeper of the Week honor, her first of 2012, and CollegeSportsMadness.com's OVC Player of the Week honor.

Shoaff has been stellar since the start of OVC play, allowing just four goals and shutting out five opponents in leading the Lady Govs to a 5-2-1 OVC record. She's saved 46 of 50 shots faced and shut out five of her last six opponents.

With two games remaining in the regular season, Shoaff's 87 saves ranks third in the conference and her 1.03 goals against average would be third-best in school history if she maintained the current pace.

The Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week is selected by the APSU Sports Information staff each Tuesday during the academic year. Copies in a Flash, of Clarksville, sponsors the award.

Other notable performances by Austin Peay athletes included:

  • Junior Anthony Bradley, of the men's golf team, tied for third at the WKU/Kenny Perry Invitational at the Club at Olde Stone, shooting a three-round 229 (79-75-75) to lead the Govs to a third-place team finish.
  • Junior Tatiana Ariza, of the women's soccer team, was named OVC Offensive Player of the Week after recording three goals (including both game-winners) and an assist in two Lady Gov victories last week. Her two-goal effort against Tennessee Tech was her fourth multi-goal game this season.
  • Junior Tala Mumford, of the women's golf team, fired a two-round 150 (75-75) to finish third at the Lady Govs' fall home tournament, the F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate, at Clarksville Country Club.
  • Senior Sean Bailey, of the men's tennis team, advanced to the round of 32 at the 2012 USTA/ITA Ohio Valley Regional Championship. He defeated Butler's Pulok Bhattacharya (6-4,6-4) on Friday, followed by a Saturday win against East Tennessee State's Jesus Bandres (2-6,6-4,7-6) before falling to Memphis' Johnny Grimal (6-3,6-4).
  • Senior Nikki Doyle, of the volleyball team, had two 20-kill performances last week. She had a double-double (20 kills, 17 digs) at SIU Edwardsville, and followed that up with a 25-kill performance at Eastern Illinois.
