THE OPENING TIP
LADY GOVS SEEK RETURN TO FORM AT BELMONT, MONDAY
Two days after seeing its four-game road win streak end, Austin Peay women’s basketball team will look to regain its form when it meets Belmont in a 6 p.m., Monday, Ohio Valley Conference contest at the Curb Event Center.
The Lady Govs’ four-game road win streak came to a halt courtesy a 96-61 OVC loss at Tennessee State, Saturday. It was Austin Peay’s worst conference loss this season as the offense could not overcome a 23-turnover night. Those 23 giveaways resulted in 25 TSU points and helped bolster the Lady Tigers second-best shooting night of the campaign (53.6 percent).
The loss pushed the Lady Govs back to fifth place in the overall league standings. They will face a Belmont squad that is in third place, just one-game ahead. However, the Bruins enter Monday’s contest seeking a win that would help it apply pressure to East Division leader Eastern Kentucky.
Belmont returns to action after a seven-day break. The Bruins have won three straight OVC contests, including a 70-67 win at Morehead State, Feb. 3. Junior guard Jordyn Luffman broke out for 25 points in that win. Her 9-of-9 outing at the free-throw line paced an impressive 22-of-23 effort by the Bruins.

LADY GOVS LEDGER
The Lady Govs are 4-2 on the road in OVC play this season while posting a 2-3 mark at home… Five APSU players are averaging 10 or more points in conference play, sophomore Tiasha Gray pacing the team with 15.6 points per game… Five APSU players have recorded a double-double this season, sophomore Jennifer Nwokocha leading APSU with five double-doubles…  Austin Peay has snapped a pair of 10-game losing streaks during the season – a 10-game overall losing streak was stopped with a win at Morehead State, Jan. 13, and a 10-game home OVC losing streak was ended with a Jan. 25 win against Tennessee Tech… Austin Peay’s non-conference strength of schedule (.544 win percentage) ranks 59th according to WBBState.com.

ABOUT BELMONT
Belmont is 2-2 against the West Division, with wins against Murray State and Southeast Missouri and losses to SIUE and UT Martin… The Bruins lead the OVC in scoring defense, limiting league opponents to 64.6 points per game (APSU ranks 11th at 74.9 ppg)… Junior guard Jordyn Luffman leads Belmont with 15.5 points per game in OVC action, ranking 11th among OVC scorers… Frankie Joubran is BU’s leading rebounder, ranking sixth in the OVC with 8.3 rebounds per league outing.

AN AUSTIN PEAY WIN WOULD…
Be its second straight loss… Be its third win in four tries against Belmont… Make it 3-2 against the East Division… Make it 6-7 overall and 5-2 in OVC action in true road games this season… Improve Daniels’ record to 89-153 overall and 89-79 in OVC action… Make the Lady Govs 442-625 overall since 1976-77.
