CLARKSVILLE – Four Austin Peay State University men’s tennis players will represent the university at the ITA Ohio Valley Regionals, hosted by Tennessee at the Goodfriend Tennis Center and Knoxville Racquet Club. Play begins Friday morning, with competition scheduled to run until Tuesday. Senior Jasmin Ademovic and juniors Dimitar Ristovski, Aleksas Tverijonas and Iago Seffrin will represent the Govs in singles and doubles play.
Seffrin, Ristovski and Tverijonas each drew first-round opponents, with opening-round singles play scheduled for Friday afternoon.
Seffrin and Tverijonas will team up in doubles play to face Lipscomb’s Daniel Hernandez and David Salazar in opening-round doubles action, beginning at 8:30 a.m. (CT). Seffrin drew another Atlantic Sun opponent, East Tennessee State's Roger Ordeig, in the opening round of singles play.
Ristovski and Tverijonas each drew a Dayton player in the first round; Ristovski will square off against Josh Malyon, with the winner moving on to face Kentucky's Kevin Lai, while Tverijonas and Drew Hanley battle for the right to face Xavier's Jimmy Roebker in the Round of 64.
Ademovic, the Govs No. 1, enters play as the 17th seed overall and received a bye into the Round of 64; he’ll face the winner of Friday’s match between Tennessee Tech's Alex Arovin and IUPUI's Pat O'Neil.
Ademovic and Ristovski also will pair up for doubles play, facing Belmont’s Henrik Claesson and Cedric Dujacquier in 8:30 a.m. (ET) opening-round action.
