Austin Peay's football team wrapped up its first practice week under new head coach Kirby Cannon, Thursday afternoon, in Governors Stadium. And the Govs did so by flipping the switch so to speak.
In fact, the practice ended with the offense playing defense and vice versa. For the defense (playing offense) to win, it had three plays to twice gain as many as five yards. But both the first- and second-team defenses were unable to achieve that goal, allowing the offense to win the encounter twice.
After the 2-hour, 15-minute, Cannon and coaches sent the players off for the Easter Weekend. The Govs will face a busy week next week, putting shoulder pad on Monday, as APSU will begin the first of four practices.
Spring practice, the first under Cannon, will conclude April 20 with the annual Red-White game.
