Clarksville, Tenn. – Junior defender Shelby Olszewski, of Austin Peay State University women’s soccer team, has been named the Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week.
Olszewski scored in both Lady Gov matches at the 2013 Ohio Valley Conference Tournament, earning all-tournament honors after leading the sixth-seeded Lady Govs to the semifinals. She finished the season with six goals, the most by a predominantly defense-oriented player in Austin Peay history.
The Pickerington, Ohio native headed home the game-winner for Austin Peay in the 86th minute in a thrilling first-round victory against third-seeded Southeast Missouri. She also scored the go-ahead goal in the 70th minute against eventual tournament champion Morehead State in Friday’s semifinal.
The Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week is selected by the APSU Sports Information staff each Tuesday during the academic year. Copies in a Flash, of Clarksville, sponsors the award.
