NASHVILLE, Tenn. -Senior guard Whitney Hanley, who scored a career-best 38 points in Austin Peay State University's opening-round win against Morehead State, was named to the Ohio Valley Conference All-Tournament team, as voted by media members following the tourney's conclusion, Saturday afternoon.
Hanley was the only all-tourney team member who was not a member of the tourney's championship game participants, UT Martin and Tennessee Tech. She scored 48 points in APSU's two tournament games.
In leading No. 8 seed APSU to an 84-83 overtime victory against No. 5 seed Morehead State, Hanley scored 18 of her 38 points in the overtime periods, going 7-of-8 from the floor.
But her heroics actually began at regulation end as she was fouled driving to the basket with 5.5 seconds remaining and made two ensuing free throws to tie the game, 61-61.
In the first overtime, Hanley scored 11 of the Lady Govs' 13 points. Hanley also did the majority of the work in the second overtime, scoring seven of Austin Peay's 10 points.
For the game, she finished 15 of 28 from the floor, including a trio of three pointers. She also had seven rebounds, four assists and three steals in the contest.
