Career Recap: Austin Peay
As a junior in 2013 – Govs set-up man finished season with 34 appearances – second most on team behind closer Tyler Rogers… Posted 6-0 record and 3.31 ERA with 33 strikeouts in 54.1 innings pitched… A “utility” pitcher, made 13 outings of 2-plus innings and 12 outings of an inning or less… Recorded first career save against Michigan State, March 3, allowing one run in final three innings… Starting April 5 against Tennessee Tech, did not allow an earned run in 16 consecutive outings totaling 22.2 innings… That stretch included an impressive 20.1 scoreless innings spanning 13 appearances… Both streaks came to an end in season’s final appearance at NCAA Bloomington Regional when he surrendered four runs in one inning to host Indiana, June 1… Made season’s only start against Evansville, April 24, and allowed two walks and two hits in 2.0 innings but picked up win on staff day… Appeared twice in OVC Tournament… Struck out three of the five batters he faced in scoreless outing against Tennessee Tech, May 24… Faced seven batters in two scoreless innings of relief against Eastern Kentucky, May 25… First NCAA Regional outing saw him strike out two batters in two scoreless innings against Florida, May 31.

As a sophomore transfer in 2012 – Appeared in 25 games, making four starts… Compiled a 2-1 record and 3.35 ERA… Three starts came in postseason play where he was 1-1 with a 2.25 ERA…  Struck out a batter and did not allow a run in each of season’s first four relief appearances, Feb. 19-March 3… Picked up first collegiate win after throwing one scoreless relief inning against Middle Tennessee, April 11, allowing one hit… Threw 2.2 scoreless innings at Tennessee, April 24, allowing two hits and a walk while facing 10 batters in longest appearance by a pitcher in game… Made first start as a Governor and allowed one hit over two scoreless innings, May 15 at Belmont… Named to OVC All-Tournament squad with starts in both Saturday contests, becoming first pitcher to start two games on the same day since the tournament moved to a neutral site in 2001… His Saturday got off to a rough start when he did not make it out of the second inning against Southeast Missouri of the day’s first game, allowing two runs on three hits… Returned in nightcap to throw complete-game, five-hit shutout in Game 1 of championship round against Eastern Illinois, May 26, allowing eight baserunners in the contest while striking out three… Started final game of NCAA Eugene Regional, allowing one run in 2.0 innings at Oregon, June 3.

Career Recap: Roane State CC
Under head coach David Lane, compiled a 4-3 record including wins against NJCCA nationally-ranked squads Walters State and Olney Central… Posted complete-game victory, allowing one unearned run, against Dyersburg in TJCCAA/Region 7 baseball tournament… Opened season with save against Cleveland State, striking out four in 2.1 innings.

Career Recap: Clarksville HS
Under head coach Brian Hetland, appeared as a pitcher 11 games as a senior, posting an 8-1 record and 1.70 ERA with 66 strikeouts in 66.0 innings pitched… At the plate batted .388 with 36 RBI… Named District 10-AAA Player of the Year, First-Team All-District 10-AAA, All-Region 5 selection, Clarksville Leaf Chronicle All-Area Pitcher of the Year, First Team All-Area Team and 2nd Team Tennessean All-Midstate… As a junior posted a 5-1 record and 1.26 ERA with 42 strikeouts in 39 innings pitched… Batted .321 and posted a .472 on-base percentage… was an All-Region 5 selection.
