Young forward showed interesting potential in first APSU season… played in all 31 games, starting eight times… one of Lady Govs top finishers in fast-break situations… 4.7 scoring average ranked sixth best on team… played 17 minutes in OVC tourney opener against Tennessee Tech, converting traditional three-point play for only points… played only five minutes total in Nashville portion of OVC tournament… came off bench during season’s early going… tallied nine points, going 4-of-8 from the floor in season’s second game against Lipscomb in 24 minutes, Nov. 17… In OVC opener against Southeast Missouri, scored nine points off bench in 16 minutes, going 3-of-5 from floor… made first career start against Pittsburgh in overtime contest… played 42 minutes and registered first double-figure scoring outing with 11 points… also had five rebounds and three assists in contest… was first of eight consecutive starts… tallied eight points against UAB on 4-of-7 shooting while pulling down five rebounds… also registered second double-figure scoring performance against Eastern Kentucky, Jan. 4, scoring season-high 13 points in 36 minutes before fouling out… started three more times before resuming reserve role… became consistent performer off bench, scoring six or more points in eight straight games… in home win against Eastern Kentucky, Jan. 28, scored nine points and then scored eight points, respectively, in losses to Morehead State and UT Martin… came up big against Murray State, Feb. 6… hit go-ahead three-pointer with 1:31 remaining and followed with game-winning jumper on next possession, finishing with seven points… in road triumph at Jacksonville State, Feb. 18, scored nine points and grabbed season-best six rebounds… in regular-season finale at Southeast Missouri, tallied six points while grabbing six rebounds and collecting season-high three steals… averaged 5.9 points and 2.3 rebounds per game in February… closed regular-season with six-point, three-rebound outing at Southeast Missouri… after making just 1-of-27 three-point attempts in season’s first two months, closed by knocking down 8 of last 19, a much-improved 42 percent.
At Corydon Central High School under head coach Michael Uhl, Bussabarger led team with 19.7 points and 9.7 rebounds per game… finished her prep career with 1,056 points, becoming only the fourth player to score 1,000 points at Corydon Central… scored 45 points and 25 rebounds in a January triple-overtime contest, setting the school record for both categories… played in the Hoosier Basketball Coaches Association’s East/West All-Star game and scored an East team-high 16 points… an accomplished multi-sport athlete, she was a member of the volleyball and track & field teams, where she competed in the high jump and 100-meter hurdles… at Indiana state tournament she finished eighth in high jump as a junior and senior and finished eighth in 100-meter hurdles as a junior… was named Corydon Central’s 2007-08 Female Athlete of the Year.
